Companions are his Heroes

 

Mom,

   hay some chick from fresno got her call to my mission i heard. her names emily briggs or somethin like that, get on that mom, when does she show up here?

  im probably gonna stay here till the rest of my mission so no, i didnt get transfered. i dont know what the address is, but if youre gonna send a package send me some old white shirts medium size, were baptizing a lot of young men cause were really cool dudes and they love us and i wanna build some white shirted army of new converts in this branch.

   ya riley go get your eagle scout! i dont think i ever cared about scouts or ever will haha.

 its getting pretty cold here and our shower is terrible so basically we take cold showers everyday and its been raining alot. i dont like the rain, you get wet in it.

    congratulations to dakota daniel aust for finishing your seminary make up work and deciding to serve a mission. God is preparing a stone cold fox for you after your mission, the devil is preparing some ugly chick for you if you dont go. if you ask me the choice has already been made huh? dallas you can still serve also, marry your girlfriend in the temple then serve a mission as old people, its your only chance my freind.  hey dakota, youll be an awesome missionary, youre gonna be the next elder AUST.

  mom these days i find nothing to complain about. ive realized that some of my greatest heroes in my life are actually the elders and sisters that i serve with here in brazil. all my companions are my heroes, theyre all such great examples to me in everything. after every transfer you take a little bit of everyone with you. im very thankful for the elders that the Lord selected just for me before this world ever began, and the great examples they have been to me.

  transfers happened this week, its the last transfer for pres. tavares, there was a lot of transfers in the zone though, we have 3 elders that are gonna train, o ya and one of them is gonna live with us, i love new missionaries theyre like little babies with missionary tags! :D

   also, i love my life.  tambem eu sou de ninguem. (also, i'm nobody)

 maybe when i get home ill work in her yard to gain some money, im gonna need it hahaha.

    you go to gospel principles? i went to gospel principles this week, actually we taught it cause the teacher didnt show up, its the first time ive gone in about 6 weeks haha. usually we just show up to take the sacrament then leave to prepare things for the baptisms or we only go to sacrament meeting becuase were on the street trying to get people to go to church. crazy world huh?

   im proud of dakota, hes gettin there, i hope he stays firm till the call. craddle him like a spiritual baby till he goes out, he has to go on the mission its priority numero uno! love ya dad!!

Dakota  had 11 cavities!! o my goodness!

 GH means man glory. its a phrase people use here for missionaries that brag alot or say stuff to look good, im trying to turn it into a good thing:D

hey mom, i saw monkeys in this bamboo forest this week, it was one of the best experiences of my life. theyre like little people.

 the elders that we live with one day in a members home started calling be batman cause they said i look like him. so now they call me batman sometimes and some of the members. not even close. and when i was elder parker everyone called me spider man. imagine if these people saw juno or that scott pilgrim against the world movie, id  get michael cera all day. anyways moral of the story is that i may have changed my name but people still recognize me as a hero. :D ha ha ha

   also i had something else to say but i forgot, and i dont care anymore. love you mom, youre my hero!

baptized this 18 year old. when he got confirmed some young woman in the ward went up to him and asked him if he was gonna go on a mission... all the young woman already love him hahahaha his names matheus

Skyped with Parker on Sunday, It was the highlight of the day on Mothers Day. He was allowed only immediate family in the room and so his cousin Koty had to step out of the room. This was very hard for Parker and for Koty, as Koty is preparing to serve a mission also and may not see Parker before he comes home. So Parker mentions him in this email. Also the reference to Vicodin is in response to him stating that his body is getting tired and he has endured much pain on his mission with needing to have his gall bladder removed when he returns and he injured his knee before the mission and will probably need surgery on that when her returns as well. But he smiles and gets through it, but we promised him we would put him out and take care of it all and then he can have some vicodin, and all would be well in Zion!!

tell koty im sorry that i couldnt talk to him, you cant break the rules, you only break yourself against the rules. i dont know how, but in some sort of way it would have weakened me and him if we broke the rules to speak to each other.

 im dying out here! p-day is gonna be really good, im gonna sit around and do nothing! i bought some adaptor thing for my camera so now ill send pics 1-2 a week. maybe.

is there some song in the u.s. called call me maybe or call me baby? sometimes i hear it on the street and i like it :D
im coming up on finishing the book of mormon for a second time in portuguese and im only about 2 chapters from finishing Jesus the Christ, that book is so good. im saying this strictly to be GH, this will be my 10th time reading the book of mormon.

  when i was 11 years old remember when i came to you mom, and said that i didnt wanna go to church anymore cause i didnt believe in God, Jesus, or the church and you simply told me to read the book of mormon and pray about it, and if God existed i would recieve an answer from Him. well mom, i did like you said, i read the book of mormon and i prayed about it and if God existed. He answered me in a way that i can never, never deny. He touched something deep within my soul that i could feel was there all along but it hadnt been discovered yet. almost like a well of water that was finally revealed andsince then has given me the water of life that i have needed.mom, even after almost ten years have passed by, i still remember how the Holy Ghost felt inside of my whole body that day, that same feeling is the same feeling i feel today, its the same feeling that drives me to be a better son of God. i may be the first missionary to leave from my home to preach the gospel, but i will never forget the sister missionary inside my own home that preached the gospel to me and helped me in my own conversion. i am everything that i am because of your testimony mom, youve given me everything ive ever needed since i was born,i am eternally grateful for your sacrifices to me. happy mothers day. i love you all!

ya the conversations on skype are always really fun huh, its nice to see all of you and enjoy hearing your voices. next time ill be hearing you all in the airport!

dakota will understand in about 5-6 months when hes on the mission how important it is to keep the rules, you dont keep the rules you didnt serve a successful mission then.
 haha im not gonna ice my knee in the middle of winter even if it did help, but it doesnt swell, its more in the lower part where i think i tore something before the mission. weve got 4 people to baptize this week so were pretty happy and determined this week, pray for them, there gonna need it. however were having problems getting the others to start focusing on the work and less on there companions problems and home life. o the problems of being a leader on the mission, gotta love it!

sounds like it was a fun weekend for you all in sacramento.

   next week ill be on skype at around 7 at night here in brazil which i think is about 1 in the afternoon for you all. i should get on around noon to about 3 in the afternoon. last time for skype on the mission, itll be 40 minutes alright, and this time get everything situated before i get on. i think last time you all switched computers during the skype thing, better to not do that again please. how do you like that glory of men from the mission site. :D (at the bottom)

   some chicks in the computer place listening to music but shes actually singing out loud, and slightly loud. she sounds like those chicks from american idol tryouts. i dont really remember what my skype stuff is, maybe i have it written down somewhere but please email me the info. love you all!
